Gospel of Matthew - Living in the Kingdom
In this series we are looking at chapters 3 to 7 in the gospel of Matthew We see the sudden appearance of John the Baptist on the scene, challenging us to repent as Jesus draws near with his Kingdom.
And then Jesus appears, setting us an example in his baptism, showing us how to fight our battles,calling us into his Kingdom life.
We will be looking in detail at part of the Sermon on the Mount, the biggest section of Jesus’ teaching in the Bible.
The Great Commission
Marcellus looks at how Jesus' last words to his disciples injects a meaning that we can build our lives upon.
Jesus’ heart of compassion
Marcellus looked at Matthew 9 v35- 10 v4 where Jesus sends his disciples out into the world to proclaim the gospel. We saw that what motivated Jesus (and still does) is his compassion for all mankind.

Luke looked at how Jesus is the light of the world and how he comes to shine his light on the darkness of the world. As Jesus begins his ministry he calls his first disciples at great personal cost to them. Then we see how the kingdom of God is good news as the light of the world then heals the sick and sets people free.

Martin looked at when Jesus is baptised and immediately goes into a fierce temptation battle. How Jesus fought this battle helps us to clearly see the battles in our lives and how we should fight them.

John the Baptist
